A pack a day habit? That’ll be $10,000 thanks!

A 12.5% price hike?  Cheapest pack of smokes almost thirty bucks?  That’ll burn a BIG hole in your pocket VERY quickly!

Okay, okay, I’m all up to date after your many calls and messages.  I get it…the cheapest packet of smokes in Australia, 20s, has increased in price to a whopping $29, giving a pack a day smoker an eye watering $10,000 a year habit.  Super bad luck to those of you fancying a Malboro Gold though, with packs skyrocketing to a staggering $49, or $17,000 a year habit, if you go through 25 smokes a day.

Believe me, I’m not without sympathy, I quit when they reached $10 a packet.

So, as experienced hypnotherapists/hypnotists who have been in this profession for almost nine years, I need to tell you up front, we DON’T do one session quit smoking hypnotherapy.

Please don’t ask us to.  Why?  Because it’s a well known fact that around 85% of smokers have emotional blocks to quitting.  Therefore, if we don’t address these blocks first, your chances of successfully kicking your habit in the butt are greatly reduced.

At Whispered Wisdom Hypnotherapy we’re serious about helping you quit, however if you can still justify reasons to continue smoking, you’re wasting your money, and our time.  Your successful quitting does not come down to our skill as hypnotists, it’s about you and your commitment to beat the bumpers.

Below are some other questions we’re frequently asked:

Does WWH give a guarantee?

No.  Neither does your GP or the drug company who manufactures that quit smoking medication.

What’s WWH’s success rate?

It’s not our success rate, it’s yours.  Statistics are not a reliable indicator of our capability. If we’d worked with one smoker who successfully quit, we’d be 100% successful.

I’ve had hypnosis to quit before, can I just do one session?

No.  We do NOT do one session quit smoking hypnosis.  Also, don’t be surprised if our techniques are different.

Do I have to do homework?

Yes, no homework, no hypnosis.  Your homework is for your benefit.  This is how we customise your program and target your triggers.

Is the complementary consultation required?

Yes.  It’s free?  Then we both get to decide if we want to work together.

What is our quit smoking program?

Our foundation quit smoking program is the minimum we are prepared to do to help you achieve your desired result.  It is designed to deal with the emotional blocks and limiting beliefs you have, that keep you smoking.  There are usually other health benefits too.

Your minimum required commitment is seven, pre-paid and scheduled consultations, plus the complementary customisation consultation.

Whether we decide to work together, or not, below are some hints you may find helpful, some of them shared by our past quit smoking clients:

  • Keep a diary of your habit for a week. Include when and where you smoke, what you do while smoking (eg. drink coffee, do the crossword), and why you’re smoking (eg. stressed, bored, socialising).
  • Choose a date to quit and keep it to yourself. You don’t need any added pressure.
  • Make a list of compelling reasons to quit.
  • Throw away all your smoking related paraphernalia, eg cigarettes, ashtrays, lighters, etc, and if you smoke in your car, clean it out.
  • Put a bottle of drinking water where you keep your cigarettes.
  • Plan to avoid/limit alcohol if this is a risk factor.
  • Don’t have your last cigarette on your way to your first consultation.

Some of this may seem a little hard line, but we can tell you we’ve heard a lot of reasons from clients why they can’t possibly be successful, and even why they will fail before they even start.  This is why we work on mindset first.  We don’t want you to finish a couple of hypnosis sessions, think you’re done, and slip back into your old smoking life.  WE WANT YOU TO BE SUCCESSFUL.
